A Tribute to Dad

Dad set such a wonderful example for us with his patience, his kindness, and his
tremendous work ethic. In spite of great fatigue after a day of farming, Dad
always had time for us. He enjoyed working on old tractors and never displayed
anger over rusty, unyielding tractor parts. Dad encouraged our love of ponies by
helping with the barn work and transporting us to shows. Dad always had a great
love for animals - shy or timid animals seemed to trust him quickly. His dogs
adored him in a very devoted way.  He is shown with his beloved dog, Tubbs, who
was laid to rest on March 6, 2002 at the age of 16. Dad died in 1993 after
waging a courageous battle against cancer.  He earned the love and adoration of
his children and the respect and admiration of his friends and neighbors.  He will
never be forgotten.
